I learned how to use Blender just to create this! I drew all of the letters from scratch, rather than using a stock font.

The Reference:

It’s a typo piece of the climactic line in Iliza Shlesinger’s joke in this video. (You can hear Judith Light deliver the same line here, but it doesn’t have quite the same impact.)

The Concept:

The concept was to rearrange the pieces of the last two letters to spell Iliza’s middle name, “Vie.” I angled her name directly toward the viewer for added effect. It’s like a new type of found poetry; instead of finding and assembling words in passages, I’m finding and assembling letters within letters.

Tutorials That Helped Me Create This:

While I was learning Blender, I found the tutorials by Tutor4u very useful. He holds your hand through every single button press, which made it a lot easier to get the basics down. Andrew Price’s tutorials go more in depth, but they’re made for people who already have a decent understanding of the program.
