Sudden Cruelty:
He is a God, or so he believes
He judges others and puts them into stereotypes
Asian? No life! Hispanic? Brainless!
He thinks he has control over his world
A delusion which he has never been able to break
Me? I'm better than them, I'm smarter...
He sits alone in his room, ignoring the emptiness
He sits in front of his computer and passes judgement
Lol, you're wrong. You're stupid. Everything is stupid!
He laughs and smiles at his own cruelty;
He feels powerful and most certainly superior to all
But in the end, it's just a fantasy isn't it?
He curls up in his bed, thinking about tomorrow
Here, he's a king, but out

in wordsworth and shakespeare
and blake, burns, and brownings
or in the cold stiff bones
of raleigh's of long ago;

we infect,
detect, and re-select
a virus--a disease,
a germ in every verse and line;
the first signs of
foolish waitings under
bridges and scolding parents
and melodrama
and nothing to signify at all
yet--
we are the blood of nations

and the love of every
rhetorist and sentimist
to come;
we dance through the ballrooms of
the age and chat with
higher minds
we shake hands with heros
and the homeless, dirty

I enter the classroom and look around
I sit at my desk and stare at the floor
Nobody here ever tries to talk to me
and I can't really talk to them
I usually wait for class to begin
But ten minutes can feel like an eternity
I wish I could pop in my earphones
But they cut them in half yesterday...
Sometimes I hear them talking about me
But the words are always the same
They say it so much that I start to believe;
That I'm really what they say I am
Ugly, fat, stupid, beast;
These are the lightest words that they use
I wonder why they have to do it to me
But I don't know what it's like to be normal
